Artventures
Ages 6-9
Monday-Friday, 9:00am-2:00pm
Students learn about visual arts in a fun and non-competitive environment. Each week is based on an exciting theme. The students will explore painting, drawing, sculpting, collage, and more! Bring a packed lunch and a snack. Limited to 15.

Abstract it!
Let loose those imaginations! Students will explore collage, montage, textures and nontraditional recycled materials to create incredible imaginative compositions.

Art Stories of the Olympics
A fun introduction to the history of the Olympic games and the creativity that surrounds this monumental event. Students will create Greek vases, elaborate medals, design their own games and costumes.

Sailing the Seven Seas
Voyaging through the seas, young sailors will explore oceans and marine animals then create artworks based on their adventures. Set your sights on fishy illustrations, sandy solutions and tropical creatures.

Amazing Mobiles
Shape, color, cut, design and assemble amazing mobiles and movable art. Students will construct and balance floating worlds and animals creating an atmosphere all their own.

Creative Creatures
Study fabulous creatures from our most mysterious terrains. Create 3-D and 2-D artworks inspired by sphinx, chimeras and unicorns.

Wondrous Worlds
Students will explore the fantastic world of comics and their unique characters. Creat fantasy artworks, maps to hidden worlds and 3-D characters with costumes.

Dots and Dabs
Master paint stokes and color combinations. Students will try out Pointillism, Expressionism and the Fauvism.

Portraits
Students will study the art of rendering people and faces. We will examine a variety portraits then create our own.

Summer Studios
Ages 10-16
Mon. -Thur., 10am-2pm
Summer Studios is a two week program that offers young artists the opportunity to study drawing, painting, and ceramics in a focused, creative environment. After gaining familiarity and proficiency with pencil, brush, and clay, the student will be inspired to use these media for personal creative expression. Students study two hours of drawing and painting, and two hours of ceramics each day. Bring a lunch for the break. When you call to register, please specify age group: Ages 10-12 or Ages 13-16. Limited to 8 per age group.

Moms, Dads & Tots
Work creatively one-on-one with your child. We will use a variety of traditional art and household materials and will explore these in an open, expressive environment. There will be lively music, singing and creative movement. Limited to 12 pairs. Note to parents: Child must be 2-years-old by first class. Siblings under 7 months are welcome. Each tot must be accompanied by an adult.

Pottery & Wheelthrowing
Learn about the creative possibilities of clay. These classes will introduce students to hand-building techniques and the basics of wheelthrowing. Beginner Painting, ages 9-13

In this beginner’s class, students will learn the fundamentals of painting while studying traditional and contemporary painters. Lessons will include color theory and basic techniques such as layering and highlighting. Working from still life, students will learn to break down objects to simple forms, then build in details. This class will provide the knowledge and confidence to tackle painting; beginning with acrylics and progressing to oils.

How to Draw Manga, ages 14+

Want to know how Chobits, Inuyasha and Spiderman are sketched and set into complex adventures? Then this is the class for you. We will examine the conventions in character design, motion, storytelling, and setting. Using basic and advanced drawing techniques, students will create this exciting genre in their own style, while broadening their artistic skills.

Learn to Draw like a Pro Intensive, ages 9+

This fun, yet intensive, course will cover basic drawing with a focus on the character. Assignments will build upon each other beginning with drawing shapes, use of light and shadow, perspective and composition. We will then draw the figure: basic anatomy, construction of the body, poses and gesture drawing. Drawing supplies and materials will be provided. Limited to 10.

Fashion Reconstructed, ages 9-12

Recycle and redesign clothing using additive, subtractive and experimental techniques. By re-examining the function and symbolism of clothing, fresh ideas and designs will emerge, giving new life and energy to any closet. Whether it’s a bathrobe, tuxedo, or skirt, students will be excited by the challenge to reinvent their selection in a thoughtful and creative way. Students will sew by hand, use fabric glue and iron-on tape. Sewing Machines welcome.
