Spring Classes at the Brookline Teen Center

 

CARTOONING AND COMICS

This class is for students in 6th, 7th or 8th grade and meets at the Brookline Teen Center

Tuesdays (8 wks), April 3-May 29 (No class April 17)

3:30-5:00pm  |  Teacher: Anna Christine

Class Fee: $240, Materials: $20

 

Students learn the fundamentals of cartooning and various approaches to visual storytelling by looking at the work of published cartoonists. Each student has the opportunity to develop their own narrative. By the end of class, each student develops a working knowledge of character creation, environment design, page layout and visual storytelling.

 

 

ANIMATION

This class is for students in 6th, 7th or 8th grade and meets at the Brookline Teen Center

Fridays (7 wks), April 6-June 8 (No class Apr 20, Apr 27 & May 11)

3:00-4:30pm  |  Teacher: Zoe Schein

Class Fee: $230, Materials: $20

 

Bring your characters and ideas to life in both 2D and 3D form. Projects include flip books, charcoal animations, 3D text animations using found materials and claymation. Students will learn the fundamentals of storytelling and basic animation skills in this fun, collaborative class.

 

NOTE: These classes meets at the Brookline Teen Center (40 Aspinwall Ave). Students must be in middle school to attend.
