Membership: Become a member and receive a 10% discount on classes and register two weeks early.

Register Early

Register early to ensure a place in the course of your choice. Our classes have limited enrollment and fill quickly, so act now to avoid disappointment. Also, all classes must meet minimum enrollment.

• Fall Classes Begin: Week of September 13 (there are some classes starting earlier)
• Rosh Hashanah: BAC closed Thursday, September 9
• Yom Kippur: BAC closed Friday, September 17 and Saturday, September 18
• Columbus Day: BAC closed Monday, October 11
• Veteran's Day: BAC closed Thursday, November 11
• Winter Classes Begin: Week of January 10
• Martin Luther King Jr. Day: BAC closed Monday, January 17
• Presidents Day: BAC closed, Monday, February 21
• BAC closed for regular classes: February 22-25, 2011
• Brookline Public School Vacation, ARTventures classes at BAC: February 22-25

  Tuition Payment

  You may register in person, by mail, fax, or over the phone. Tuition must be paid prior to the first day of class/workshop. We accept cash, check, Visa or Mastercard. If registering by phone, you may use a credit card number to hold your space and then mail or drop off a check. If your check is not received within two weeks of the registration date or on the first day of class (whichever occurs first), your card will be automatically charged. There is a $20 fee for any returned checks.

  Scholarships

  Scholarships are based on financial need. Please call for information and a form.

  Gift Certificates

  Gift Certificates for classes are available in any amount. Please contact the office for more information.

  Cancellation Policies

  A refund minus a $20 processing fee will be issued if we are notified at least one week prior to the start of your class. Once classes begin your tuition can not be refunded. Generally, BAC classes will be held with a minimum of 4 students. Decisions on whether a BAC class or workshop meets minimum student enrollment will be made at least 24 hours before the beginning of the class/workshop. Occasionally, a class will be postponed. The office will contact students to inform them of class status should a class/workshop need to be cancelled. In the case of the office cancelling a class your tuition will be fully reimbursed, or your account will be credited. The Arts Center will not issue refunds if registered students miss class(es).

  Inclement Weather and Vacation Day Policy

  BAC classes follow the same schedule as Brookline Public Schools. When Brookline Public Schools are closed for a snow day or holiday, BAC classes are cancelled unless an agreement has been made between a BAC teacher and her/his students. See the Brookline Public Schools School Closings website, or listen to WBZ News Radio 1030AM for school cancellation information. When in doubt about adult evening classes, please call the BAC for a recorded message at 617-566-5715.

  Make-Up Classes

  If the BAC cancels classes, make-ups will be rescheduled, time permitting, by the instructor at the end of the semester. Class attendance is not mandatory. The Arts Center will not issue refunds if registered students miss class(es).

  Confirmations

  We do not send written confirmation of registration, but we will notify you if there are any problems or changes that you should know about.

  Senior Citizen Discount

  Persons 65 and over receive a 15% discount on class fee only. (Materials and/or still life fees must be paid in full.)

  Accessibility

  We welcome participants of all abilities. If you or your child have any special needs please let us know in advance so that we can make every effort to accommodate. The first floor is wheelchair accessible. One wheelchair accessible parking space is available in front of the building. Dial 711 if you are deaf, hard of hearing or need voice access via Massachusetts Relay TTY. You may also call Mass Relay at 1-800-439-2370, or at 1-800-439-0183 for voice access.

  Teenagers

  Teenagers may take adult classes if they are at least 17 years old. Younger students may attend with the permission of the instructor.

  Photographs

  The BAC staff periodically takes photographs of classes and events for our promotional materials including our course catalog and the website. If you have any objections to the use of of images of you or your children, please contact the office before your class or event begins.
