Financial Aid

Need-based financial aid for classes and workshops is available to eligible individuals and families throughout the year. In order to assess financial need, we follow the guidelines set up by the City of Boston HUD’s median income chart. We will only consider financial aid for individuals and families who have an adjusted gross income that falls below the 80% median income bracket. The BAC requires a copy of your latest 1040 Income Tax Form or equivalent information to verify your income once per year. The information requested is confidential and is necessary to help determine the degree of need for each applicant. Through the EBT Card to Culture program, individuals and families with an EBT Card automatically qualify for financial aid.

EBT Card to Culture is a collaboration between the Mass Cultural Council and the Executive Office of Health and Human Services’ Department of Transitional Assistance. Did you know anyone with a Massachusetts-issued EBT (Electronic Benefits Transfer) card can get reduced or free admission into cultural organizations across the Commonwealth?  Access the power of culture with your EBT card - see the full list of participating organizations online.

Admission to the BAC's exhibitions and open houses is always free.

Supporting Financial Aid

We believe that access to arts education and programming should be available to everyone. We need the support of our community to continue to offer financial aid for low-income families. Annually, the BAC grants over $11,000 in financial aid. We need your help to continue this program. If you would like to help by sponsoring an individual or family, please contact the office at 617-566-5715.
