Press Release - March 22, 2009 - Summer 2009 Art Classes announced at Brookline Arts Center
New Schedule of Summer Art Classes Announced at Brookline Arts Center
The Brookline Arts Center is now registering students for its summer art classes in drawing, painting, ceramics, jewelry, sculpture, comics, enamels and more. The Brookline Arts Center is a community arts center that has provided art classes for children and adults for 45 years.
In recent years, teen students have been flocking to classes in jewelry design and metalsmithing. In response, the arts center will offer weekly intensive classes in jewelry and metalsmithing each weekday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. between June 29 and August 14. Meanwhile, younger children between 6 and 9 years old will be exploring such themes as outer space, Ancient Egypt, the circus, architecture and Ancient Mexico in Artventures, an intensive class offered in one-week sessions.
This summer, adults can learn calligraphy, basic drawing, watercolors, acrylics or oil painting in day and evening classes. The hugely popular trend toward handmade accessories -- for the home or for the body -- can be indulged in decoupage, batik, mobile, enamel and jewelry classes for adults that are offered during July and August.
Advance registration is required for all courses. The catalogue of Summer classes is now available by calling 617-566-5715 or writing bac@brooklineartscenter.com. Information about specific courses may also be accessed at the art center website: www.brooklineatscenter.com
