Brookline Open Studios & Marketplace will be held on Saturday, October 3 from 11:00am-6:00pm. This exciting town-wide event encourages interaction and creative exchange between artists and offers the community opportunities to experience a diverse range of creative works throughout town.

Brookline Open Studios & Marketplace features three vibrant hubs, including Brookline Arts Center, Brookline Village and Coolidge Corner, in addition to artists opening their home studios throughout Brookline. This triangle of activity provides a festive atmosphere for artists and visitors alike, featuring solo and group artist sites, demonstrations, entertainment, food trucks and more. This year’s event will feature more than 70 artists throughout town, offering the community a glimpse into their work and creative process.

Brookline Open Studios & Marketplace is free to attend and accessible via a special event shuttle and MBTA’s Green Line.

A group exhibition featuring work from participating artists will be on view at Brookline Arts Center, September 11-October 9, with a reception on Friday, October 2 from 6:00-8:00pm.

Please check back in June for an interactive map listing participating artists and locations!

Brookline Open Studios started in 1986 when a handful of artists living in Brookline opened up their home studios to the general public one weekend in the spring. Since then, more and more artists have participated, sharing their work and process of creating with the community. Now in its 34th year, the event has been reinvigorated for a new season, introducing new sites, inviting new artists and incorporating engaging activities. The Brookline Arts Center’s Artist Marketplace, which ran for over 35 years each fall, will now combine forces with Open Studios to provide an amplified experience for artists to share their work.

The 2020 Brookline Open Studios & Marketplace Steering Committee includes Caroline Bowden, Amy Emmert, Madeline Fine, Gillian Jackson, Leonie Little-Lex, Maryellen Moran, Lauren Riviello, Lauren Trombino-Walleser, Lex Vazquez, Sheryl Williams and Caren Zane.
