My work laces together the rhythms of the earth and the body. I’m engulfed by my physical and spiritual ties to these ancient timekeepers. My paintings also engage the timelessness of gathered symbols and archetypes. I enliven my story with ghostly forms from poems, plays, art history, scriptures, and fairy tales. They are entwined on the surface of the work with the language of gesture and wreathed in botanical symbolism. My figures are both fragile and strong – overgrown by and composed of the landscape.
