Creativity is in my nature. Painting is the vehicle that allows me to exercise that creativity. It’s a welcomed diversion from my daily work routine.
As a painter of landscapes and seascapes, I am inspired by the places I visit. I know I’ve found my inspiration when my mind begins to wander, contemplating the possibilities of the new terrain before me. Although I admire traditional landscape artists, I strive to create works that are more contemporary, so the viewer can make their own interruptions of my work.
I have several recent series of work. My latest focus of work is on the White Mountains of New Hampshire, the valleys below, and big vast skies. I have also created works from the island of Madeira, Portugal called the Fenal. Here is where the misty plateau at the top of a mountain is considered magical by the locals. The fishing Weir series was discovered off the coast of New Brunswick, Canada where I was immediately captivated by the abandoned and dilapidated weirs collapsing into the sea.
