Nancy Van Zant
I am active in watercolor with emphasis on the use of and experimentation with color. I love painting scenes of my adopted home, New England. I have also worked in collage, usually in themes, often for children. For example, I have completed a clown series as well as a “Frozen” series, which little girls love. I also have collage scenes from the New England coast.
I am an advocate for the arts, especially through the Museum of Fine Arts Boston, where I volunteer each week. Art gives me a means to express beauty and design, to interact with other artists and people who love the arts. I am interested in the juncture of design and re-purposing of materials into art. I am eager to advance my skills, improve my techniques while exploring color, composition, form, and light. I participate in regular and occasional classes and workshops.
This submission is my Quarantine Work! I have a painting exhibited in a volunteer show at the Museum of Fine Arts, January 2020-. I also have exhibited online in recent months at Gaada, Burra Isle, Shetland UK and Charles H. MacNider Art Museum, MacNider Art at Home, Mason City, Iowa.
