Our intensives offer students the opportunity to explore artistic mediums of their choosing in both a focused and fun environment. Classes encourage individual artistic exploration as well as introduce and develop techniques and skills for each medium. Each intensive is lead by a professional working artist in their field.

SCULPTURAL POTTERY (Virtual)

In this hands-on program, students will get the opportunity to explore the world of clay, without needing a kiln or other equipment. They will learn fundamental handbuilding techniques, such as pinching and coil building, to create imaginative sculptural works of art. Through this virtual format, students will be guided through using air dry clay, which is easy to work with and clean up, and will ensure that all projects can be fully completed at home. At the end of each week, students will paint their pieces, and they will be ready to display! *Projects will not be food safe.

In this virtual format, students will receive a number of lessons to work on at home, along with a recommended materials list. Each day will begin with a lesson on techniques along with guided demonstrations and interactive lessons. Students will also engage with teacher and their classmates in real-time group activities and conclude the week with a group critique or Show and Tell!

THE WINTERSCAPE INTENSIVE (Virtual)

When people think of landscapes they usually think of rolling fields of green, pure blue skies, and all that. However, in this week a wondrous, mysterious, and enchanting winter landscape is what we’ll be taking on as our subject matter. Incorporate some of your winter favorites; maybe a ski slope, a snowball fight, or a bright glittering winter sky! Students will sharpen their sketching skills and work with paint or pastels to create a gorgeous winter landscape just in time for the solstice!

In this virtual format, students will receive a number of lessons to work on at home, along with a recommended materials list. Each day will begin with a lesson on techniques along with guided demonstrations and interactive lessons. The format of this class will allow students to share progress and ideas as a group. Students will engage with the teacher and their classmates in real-time group activities and conclude the week with a group critique!
