Our intensives offer students the opportunity to explore artistic mediums of their choosing in both a focused and fun environment. Classes encourage individual artistic exploration as well as introduce and develop techniques and skills for each medium. Each intensive is lead by a professional working artist in their field.

POTTERY INTENSIVE (Virtual)

In this week long intensive, students will learn fundamental handbuilding techniques through creating and altering a large, functional object (i.e. a teapot). In this virtual format, students will be guided step-by-step through using, storing and transporting clay at home. At the end of the week, students will be given a time slot to drop off their work at BAC, where it will be fired with the glaze of their choice!

In this virtual format, students will receive a number of lessons to work on at home, along with a recommended materials list. Each day will begin with a lesson on techniques along with guided demonstrations and interactive lessons. Students will also engage with teachers and their classmates in real-time group activities and conclude the week with a group critique!

THE GRAPHIC NOVEL INTENSIVE (Virtual)

Explore the ultimate visual storytelling format: the graphic novel! We’ll learn about its influences on animation, music and film. Students will learn about panel design, give realistic expression to their drawings of original characters, and create their own graphic novels with a focus on narrative structure.

Each day will begin with a lesson on techniques along with guided demonstrations and interactive lessons. The format of this class allows students to share progress and ideas as a group. Students will also engage with the teacher and their classmates in real-time group activities and conclude the week with a group critique!

Create a line of jewelry using cables and crimp beads. In this fun week of jewelry making, we’ll continue to explore avant-garde and unusual ways of creating adornment that skirts the line between high art and wearable work!
