Need-based financial aid for classes and workshops is available for eligible individuals and families throughout the year. In order to assess financial need, we follow the guidelines set up by the City of Boston HUD’s median income chart. We consider financial aid for individuals and families who have an adjusted gross income that falls below the 80% median income bracket. The BAC requires a copy of your latest 1040 Income Tax Form or equivalent information to verify your income once per year. The information requested is confidential and is necessary to help determine the degree of need for each applicant. Through the Card to Culture program, individuals and families with an EBT or MassWIC Card automatically qualify for financial aid.
Did you know anyone with a Massachusetts-issued EBT card or MassWIC card can get reduced or free admission into cultural organizations across the Commonwealth? Access the power of culture with your card.
Admission to the BAC’s exhibitions and open houses is always free.
Apply for Financial Aid
Please allow up to six weeks for your application to be processed. Due to limited funding, not all eligible requests can be approved. Scholarships for Ceramics & Jewelry are granted per individual once per fiscal year (September – August)
Supporting Financial Aid
We believe that access to arts education and programming should be available to everyone. Annually, the BAC grants over $14,000 in financial aid. We need your help to continue and expand this program. If you would like to help by sponsoring an individual or family, please contact our office at 617-566-5715.
We currently are only accepting applicants for the Spring 2022 and Summer 2022 Sessions. Financial aid assistance only applies to seasonal classes, financial aid does not apply for private lessons.
