This spring we will be offering a variety of children classes starting as young as 18 months – 12 years old that will let your child’s creativity loose with the opportunity to try a variety of materials and art styles! Children can experiment in sculpture, ceramic, printmaking, painting, and more for unique and exciting creations. We promote artistic exploration while developing technique and critical-thinking skills. Classes start as young as 18months – 12 years old.

Thinking outside of the box is what artists do best. In this class, we will learn about some of the greatest artistic “rule-breakers” and learn to break some art rules ourselves! We will use only the strangest tools for painting, make “moving” portraits and sculpt creations out of the most unconventional materials.

Each week we will be exploring different wet media such as water-based paints and inks! As the class continues, kids will use their new familiarity with these mediums to create mixed-media illustrations, collograph prints, marbled paper and more!

Spring into Art! (Ages 5-7)

Children will explore printmaking, painting, collage and drawing in this fun Spring landscaped themed class. Student will use varied materials like foam, printing plates, stamps, and amore while creating unique landscapes, portraits and expressionistic works through guided lessons and creative freeplay.

Early Exploration in Digital Photography (Ages 8-11)

Take your love of digital photography to the next level! Students will learn basic introductory camera techniques and what makes a good photograph. This class will bring out the students’ potential of what they can create! This course will cover portraiture, still life, mixed media and abstract photography. Each week the teacher will introduce a new photographer for the students to study and learn from. At the end of session students will have a portfolio of images they can be proud of. On the last day of class each student will be invited to print their favorite photographs to exhibit in a mini gallery show with their classmates. All levels are welcome. Students will need either a DSLR, point and shoot or smartphone camera for the class. Characters and Comics (Ages 8-12)

Holy creative outlet, Batman! This class invites young cartoonists to dive into their love of making comics. We’ll take the process from beginning to end: building characters, crafting expressions and poses, selecting shots, inking and color, and generally bringing our stories to life. With a combination of projects, games, silly warmups, and practice exercises, this class aims to help young artists find their comics voices–and use them.

Mixed Media Illustration (Ages 8-12)

Explore fun and innovative ways to expand on your illustrations! Projects will focus on visual storytelling through contemporary form while incorporating a variety of mixed media materials. Combine paper, paint and recyclable materials in new, imaginative ways!. What wild textures and layers can we create using these reusable media in new ways? Learn how to collage, paint, sculpt, deconstruct and build up in this studio-style class.
