This summer we will be offering a variety of art workshop classes starting as young as 18 months – 12 years old that will let your child’s creativity loose with the opportunity to try a variety of materials and art styles! Children can experiment in sculpture, ceramic, printmaking, painting, and more for unique and exciting creations. We promote artistic exploration while developing technique and critical-thinking skills. Classes start as young as 18months – 12 years old.

Summertime Art: Sun Prints Workshop

Summer is the best season to create artwork outside. Sun Prints, also known as cyanotypes, are created with two summertime elements – the sun and water! Let’s go on a scavenger hunt to find leaves, flowers, and stencils. Then create beautiful blue sun prints using these elements found in nature. Each student will create several 5” x 7” sun prints using these fun things we found. Each student will also create an 8” x 10” sun print using either their hands or feet!

Enjoy the art of printmaking! This class is open to all levels from beginners to experts. In this one-day intensive workshop, students will learn the art of printmaking through the use of speedy cut stamps, the art of Suminagashi Japanese marbling, and the art of print from found objects. Through the use of repetition and pattern making, students will learn a wide array of printmaking techniques and will explore how to make work in multiples.

This class is an introduction to jewelry making and metalsmithing. The teacher will provide you with step-by-step instructions and demos, covering techniques such as soldering, piercing, and embellishing in copper and brass. Projects will include a variety of options including bangles with stamped charms, beaded charms, wire and bead earrings, rings, cuff bracelets, and more!

Grab a friend, family member, or partner for an entertaining night of painting! Join us for a fun evening of learning the process of acrylic painting. Get inspired by a seasonal theme, experiment with color mixing, and follow step-by-step instructions to create your own painting in one session. All levels of art experience are welcome and encouraged to attend. This event is BYOB. Food and beverages will not be provided, but participants are encouraged to provide their own.

Description: Got Friday night plans? Grab a friend, partner or family member and create unique clay objects in this introduction to ceramic handbuilding date night. In this one-day workshop, your instructor will provide you with step-by-step instruction and demonstrate a variety of handbuilding techniques and fundamentals.

Couples will have the chance to decorate their works with underglaze, and can choose one glaze for each of their pieces! All artworks will be available for pick up 3 weeks after class. No previous ceramic knowledge is required. This class will not include wheel throwing.

Figure Drawing Studio

Description: Come join us Friday evenings for life drawing sessions! All levels are welcome, no prior drawing or painting experience is necessa Save ry, and any drawing medium is encouraged. This session will not include any painting. Materials will not be provided. We will provide easels and chairs. Make use of the instructor, or draw on your own. The instructor will meet you at your own level, from beginner to advanced. We will start with quick warm-ups and short poses and then move into a long pose for the last hour. We will end with a short critique/viewing of session drawings for those interested in participating.
