Classes encourage individual artistic exploration as well as introduce and develop techniques and skills for each medium. Each intensive is lead by a professional working artist in their field.

We all know a portrait is a picture that looks like a person – but how do artists make portraits that “feel” like their subjects as well? In this weeklong intensive, we will begin by learning basic strategies for drawing human features. Then, using ourselves, each other, and photographic references, we will explore the more creative side of portraiture: using materials, colors, and symbols to take a picture of a face and transform it into a portrait of a person.
