    Description Make beautiful jewelry with instruction from a working artist. They will guide you to shape, polish, solder, pierce, etch and embellish jewelry in copper and brass. Hollow forms, stones settings, stone inlay, repousse and reticulations will also be introduced.

    Description Ready to take your jewelry & metals skills to the next level? Do you want to experiment on a new project or try new materials? Students can apply the skills learned from our Teen Jewelry & Metals class and expand their knowledge of metalsmithing. This class will give teens the space to work on more advanced projects of their choosing and learn new skills along the way such as making stone settings and more complex fabrication and soldering techniques. Bring your own ideas to class and the instructor will help you make them a reality in this 10-week class!

    Description This 3 week class is an introduction to basic metal working for students with no previous experience.* Over the course of 3 weeks, you will explore the fascinating world of metal working from a - z: abrasion to zinc. A diverse group of tools and materials will be available in the workshop. You may complete one or several projects, using different processes such as sawing, filing, soldering, sanding, forging, fabricating, and polishing. Materials you will work with: brass, copper, and sterling silver.

    Description Curious about figurative art? The subject of the human face and body has fascinated artists across cultures and throughout history. Taking notes from art history as well as contemporary art, immerse yourself in the artistic study of the portrait and the figure. Each week, students will draw from a clothed live model. Whether you're looking to diversify your portfolio or feel more confident in figure drawing, students will learn to create drawings that incorporate movement, perspective, proportions, and lines into their artwork.

  • Draw Like a Pro

    Description Draw what you see and see what you draw! In this introductory-level class, students will learn the essentials of drawing techniques – specifically drawing from observation and reality. Students will try their hands at classic subjects like still life and portraiture (as well as subjects of their choice!) using a variety of different tools and media. Students will study composition – that is, how a picture β€œspeaks” to us – and explore how they can use that language themselves to communicate their own thoughts and ideas through artwork.

  • Characters and Comics

    Description Holy creative outlet, Batman! This class invites young cartoonists to dive into their love of making comics. We’ll take the process from beginning to end: building characters, crafting expressions and poses, selecting shots, inking and color, and generally bringing our stories to life. With a combination of projects, games, silly warmups, and practice exercises, this class aims to help young artists find their comics voices–and use them.

  • Clay Works

    Ages 11-13

  • Oil Painting

    Description This is an intermediate level painting class for students looking to enhance their skills in oil painting. We will cover a variety of subjects such as landscape, still life and portraiture while learning and refining technique through color theory and material understanding. How can we as artists manipulate our materials to communicate through visual language?

  • Intro to Illustration

    Ages 16+

    Description How does a picture communicate an idea? A feeling? A movement? A joke? Students in this class will dive deep into the language of drawing, and how to use that language to get their idea across. Pulling content from academic drawing, children's book design, graphic design, graphic novels, advertising, and more, students will be encouraged to experiment, play, and explore - while also developing their own unique "voice" in the language of illustration.

  • Foundations of Painting & Drawing (All Levels)
